This is the final cat picture in the three-part “Cats of Portugal” series, brought to you by Nélia Ferreira. Other cats in this series include Tobias de Vasconcelos (my new favorite cat name, by the way) and the always sleepy Junior.

According to Nélia:
The black and white cat on the roof is Monsieur Simon Antoine. I brought him to Portugal from Germany, so he is the only cat in that house who has flown in an airplane. He had always been passive to anything else but requesting caresses, until we realized he had chronically endured a light urinary infection that got so bad he had to be operated on. Now “he” is a “she” and does all the things a cat should do: run around, have long exploring walks, climb, play with friends and things, and stretch himself on the warm roof tiles of the house. However, he relishes caresses and is unquestionably benign as much as ever, and is therefore still coined “the Princess.”
