This great picture of Stormy the cat came to us on the 3rd of July. We meant to post this picture the next day, on the 4th of July, but Sassy burned her paw on a sparkler and it turned into a huge drama. At any rate, check out Stormy the cat!

According to Stormy’s owner:
“Here is a picture of my best pal, Stormy. A year ago I had to have the family cat (Spooky) put to sleep. We’d had him since he was a kitten and he was 7 years old. It was very sad. The day we buried Spooky was a grey, stormy day. Shortly after we said our good-byes to Spooky, this grey and white fellow showed up in our yard. We thought his fur looked just like the sky that day. I called out to the cat and he ran to me and let me pick him up. He wrapped his paws around my neck and purred. We named him Stormy and he’s been with us ever since.”
It sounds like the future forecast calls for a 100% chance of happiness, for both Stormy and his new owners. Thanks for sending in such a good picture of a great cat like Stormy. ~Dexter, Editor

This picture of Zora the cat was sent in by owner Kierra, who said: “This is my cat Zora. Zora is 2 years old and is the cutest thing I have ever seen. She is very moody and sometimes screams when she doesn’t get her way.”

We can relate to Zora screaming when she doesn’t get her way. You should hear Sassy scream when she looses a game of Dance Dance Revolution. She blames some of us other cats for distracting her. What can you do? She’s called Sassy for a reason.
Thanks for sending in your great cat picture Kierra. Zora is a pretty kitty, for sure.

Socrates, the Greek philosopher, once said: “Do not do to others what angers you if done to you by others.”
Socrates the cat (in the picture below) can certainly understand a quote like that … in his own kitty way. Socrates the cat has plenty of reason to be angry at his past owner, but instead he chooses to focus on the blessing that is his new owner.

This picture of Socrates was sent in by Murray from Victoria, Australia, who also said the following:
“Here is a picture of my beloved grey tabby Socrates. He was thrown out of a car and I adopted him from the R.S.P.C.A. in Ballarat Australia. He is five months old and extremely smoochy as well as curious - and has forgiven the humans who treated him so badly. He is a very flexible little man and always seems to sleep in awkward positions!”
Thanks for sending a great picture of your cat Murray!

Said owner Ella: “My cat is called Hermione. She is special because she was my first pet, and she is cute with me and not with anyone else.”

Editor’s notes: This is a great cat picture because it shows how Hermione reserves her affection for her owner, and only her owner. She’s looking at the camera like she’s thinking, “Could you please get that thing out of my face?”
Oh, and Sassy our PR manager (and resident know-it-all kitty) wants to point out that Hermione was also a character in the Harry Potter books and movies, as well as a Christian martyr who died in 117 A.D. Thanks for that tidbit of Jeopardy trivia, Sassy.
At any rate, we hope you enjoy this wonderful cat picture of Hermione.

Said cat owner Christoper: “My cat’s name is Riley. She’s special because she is so irresistibly cute that you just have to pet her and cuddle her. She’s very talkative as well.

Editor’s comments: Now there’s a cat who knows how to have her picture taken! The pose says, “I will look toward the camera, but don’t expect me to open my eyes until I’m ready. Crack open a can of tuna and we can talk about it.”
This cat picture sits extremely well in our spotlight frame, because it seems as though Riley is basking in the light. We are happy to have a picture of this cute cat and we thank Christopher for sending it.

Here’s a great photo of Godric Gryffindor, sent in from proud owner Tim. Please see Tim’s story below the cat picture.

My cat Godric Gryffindor (the solid black adult) is such a great cat because he’s friendly and playful, and such a great older brother for my kitten, Draco. He licks him clean, cuddles with him and plays with him all day long…which is a relief considering the first few days after I brought Draco home all they did was hiss at each other and I wasn’t sure if Godric would EVER accept the new addition to our family. Godric is also very beautiful, and VERY soft. He could even be in commercials if we lived in L.A.!

Here’s a beautiful outdoor picture of two cats names Sammi and Isla.

These kitties are a true story of friendship, and you can read all about it (and see plenty more pictures of these beautimous cats) over at their owner’s website:

Here’s the final cat picture in our Tosca + Tony series.

No, you are not seeing double. Look closely and you will notice that Tosca (background) has more spots and stripes than Tony, along with a white chest. And though they look like siblings, these two kitties are not related.
Tosca came from a Humane Society shelter, and Tony (foreground) came from the “tough streets” of Austin, Texas. He was rescued from underneath a car on a rainy night … just a scared, skinny and hungry kitten with nowhere to go. Here’s to second chances, Tony!
Now the two cats are as close as any true siblings, despite the occasional stealing of food … and we’re not saying any names here, Tony.
The stealing food bit reminds us of Peaches. She used to be a stray kitten (we think), and as a result of that she hordes food like it’s going to run out tomorrow. She will steal a piece of fish right out of your paw and look at you like it was hers to begin with!

Here’s a picture of a sweet kitty named Tosca — sweet, but without all the calories of regular sugar. This picture of “Tosca Bean” was sent in by Lisa from Texas, who also sent the previous picture of Tony. In fact, Tony is Tosca’s “brother from another mother.”

Tosca is a kitty with a taste for the finer things in life. As you can see, she enjoys a good box bed once in a while, and she is also quite fond of shopping bag blankets.

Lisa from Austin, Texas sends in this picture of Tony, also known as “yoga kitty” (obvious reasons).

This pictures shows Tony performing his daily yoga routine, which is excellent for strength, flexibility, circulation and overall health. We believe this is the half spinal twist position.
Not surprisingly, the one yoga position that Tony absolutely refuses to do is the downward-facing dog. We hear ya, Tony. In fact, your refusal to do that position is in keeping with our “no dogs allowed” policy here at Kitty Spotlight.
